Really? A lifeline?
Well, yes. You would be amazed by the number of jobs that we do on domestic computers. Many times, we hear the owner say that it's not urgent. Then, we receive a telephone call telling us that it is needed quickly for college or school work, or an eBay item ending, or an email which is urgent, or their iPad or tablet can't print so they need the computer back as soon as possible. We need them more than we think we do. So it is important for us to fix fast and help you to keep your computer running as well as possible.

There is a great saying which really does ring true these days. "You don't get anything for free" Well, you do, but there is usually a payload.
You can download amost any piece of software from the Internet. If it's free, you have to ask yourself why someone would take the time and trouble to write that software, develop it and then give it away for free. That's because it usually is either time limited and then you have to pay, or it is bundled with many other 'utilities' which you don't need or didn't ask for.

When that 'free' utility or smiley package, or file opening assistant, or 'fix my PC for free' software is installed, that's when you find out that it also installed possibly numerous other fantastic free utilities which are designed to make your PC work faster and better.
The problem is that they usually don't. They run in the background, absorbing system resources and constantly nagging you about the hundreds of registry errors you have, or that you haven't backed up yet, or that you have viruses.... so, Pay or not pay?

Most laptops use Lithium ion batteries.
These batteries are stable and powerful.
The cheap imported batteries often are not.
Some manufacturers put too few cells in and overcharge them. A recipe for disaster. Some cheap chargers can overcharge the battery, even if it's a genuine one.
The result? An unstable battery.
When a Lithium ion barttery becomes unstable, it becomes seriously dangerous. Once a reaction starts, sometimes it won't stop until total and catastrophic failure... or fire for short. We won't go there.

It’s an old saying but it really is true. We only supply high quality products from top brand manufacturers at sensible prices. We've noticed a number of websites now offering cheap or fake original batteries built using Chinese cells.
In a recent survey by a national newspaper, 33 of the 34 test purchases they made from an auction site were fake goods!
We've thoroughly tested their batteries and they just don't last. We've also disassembled a number of these products to find on some occasions the battery capacity doesn't match what it says on the label. A real con!

Laptop and PC's are mini vacuum cleaners. They suck dust in and deposit it in the worst possible places.... the cooling fins of the processor cooling system.
When the processor overheats, problems happen. The lifespan of the processor an be affected as well as system crashes or extreme performance issues.
In some cases, and yes we have seen it on very many occasions, a system can overheat so much that the solder melts on the mainboard and electrical failure ensues.
When that happens, it can spell the end for that piece of equipment.

Data recovery
A customer recently pointed out to us that although we do offer basic data recovery, we didn't show it on our website.
He was right. So here it is.
We DO offer data recovery, but we are not set up with clean room facilities as the larger data recovery centres are.
What we do offfer is a friendly and hopeful service. If the drive spins up and can be seen by our dedicated recovery PC, we will do everything in our power to extract your data for you.
So, if you have a hard drive that has lost data, let us have a look first. It could have you hundreds of pounds and won't cost you a penny for us to have a look at it.
